Immigrant Federal Authentications
Star Here > Immigrants do not need to authenticate their ‘Country of origin’ Birth documents right-away as those documents do not impact their equity affairs here in Canada once the Citizenship has been issued.
The first documents to get Authenticated are: 1) Landing paper, 2) Certificate of Citizenship and if we do not have either of these, then we will have some type of Immigration Visa that can be Authenticated by Global Affairs. If we have been living in Canada for a long time and have never obtained a Landing paper or Certificate of Citizenship then One can apply for a new Certificate of Citizenship – which you can get as per the authentication instructions below:
Immigration Landing papers
Everyone who has immigrated to Canada before 2009 has received either an 8.5X14 Immigration landing document that is pink and brown in color, or an immigration visa. That original Immigration landing paper is not replaceable, that document is an original so if you have lost it or misplaced it, all that can be retrieved for you is an Extract sheet that simply details the particulars of your landing information – which can not be used for Authentication purposes. If you do have it – get a Certified true copy of it Notarized and keep the Notarized copy in a different location than the original so if you lose either you still have the Notarized copy. Put the original in a safe or a vault for safe-keeping as it is not replaceable. (Probably on purpose)
Certificate of Citizenship
Everyone who has successfully immigrated to Canada has received a ‘statement of Citizenship’ – this is NOT the same as the Certificate of Citizenship. The new Citizenship Certificates are 8.5X11 in size and does not have a red header. The document will have the Crown Federal Government Coat-of-arms at the top (the principal Owner). As of February 1, 2012, those old plastic CitizenSHIP wallet-sized cards are no longer issued or accepted. Do not use this wallet-sized card as your picture on it is evidence YOU are a CORPORATION VESSEL in Maritime jurisdiction. We want to change our status as that of a dead corporation to that of a living beneficiary of the commercial Maritime jurisdiction ship/vessel.
- Ordering the Certificate of Citizenship: To begin the application for the Citizenship Certificate, (on paper) go to the Government of Canada Application instruction page here: > Link < This government instruction webpage tends to change a bit here and there so we give you a link to their changing page and also the links tend to change year to year, so if this link is dead, that means they have changed the location – and please notify us that they have changed the link AGAIN. Remember, apply on paper for evidence you are alive living Man or Woman.
- Citizenship certificates do not need to be Notarized for a Federal Authentication, Global Affairs will stamp and sign the back of the Citizenship document.
Authenticating Federally issued documents
Your Immigration Landing paper and your Certificate of Citizenship need to be authenticated by Global Affairs Canada for international purposes (You and your trust are foreign!).
Remember, it is not the Federal Government’s business why exactly you want your documents authenticated for > Foreign use. If you are pressed further for the exact Country you will be using the document in it is the US, Washington DC, for financial mortgage purposes – this is not a lie, this is exactly what you will be eventually using it for: (your estate has been mortgaged and we are intent on redeeming the mortgage!).
In other Countries, authentication is also known as legalization or Apostille. Expect your authentication lead time to be 4 to 6 weeks.
To begin the process:
- Notarize just the front of your documents Provincially in your current Province first,
- print and use their authentication form > Click here
- Or if you are having trouble opening their form > Click here
Send your Notarized documents to:
